I’m Hungry! [Summertime Snack Ideas]

Summer is here which means I hear the words “I’m hungry” 24/7 from my kiddos.  If your kids are anything like mine, they are constantly on the search for something to eat.  Here are some ideas that have your summertime snacks covered!  These tasty snacks can be made easily to enjoy by the pool, after camp or on a rainy summer day inside.

Frozen Grapes

These are sweet, refreshing and SO simple.  All you do is put them in the freezer!  I would recommend sticking with the seedless ones.

Fruit & Cheese Cube Kabobs

They are the perfect combination of fresh fruit (of your choice) and a little protein from the cheese.  It is always fun eating food on a stick!

Watermelon Popsicles

Fresh and delicious!  Just blend cubed watermelon (rind removed) until smooth, pour into a popsicle mold or an ice cube tray and you are done.  Again, I recommend using a seedless watermelon!

Caramel Apple Nachos

Drizzle a little caramel and chocolate over thinly sliced apples.  Green apples provide a crunchy and tart balance to the sweet toppings.  Pears would also work!

Banana Peanut Butter Roll Ups

Easy and fun for the kiddos to help make.  Just spread the peanut butter (or nut butter of choice) over the surface of a tortilla, roll the banana up and slice into 1-inch pieces.  These are another good protein and carbohydrate combo!

Frozen Yogurt Tube

Another super simple snack.  Throw their favorite brand and flavor of yogurt tubes into the freezer and there you go!

Veggies & Dip

Put out some veggie sticks (carrots, celery, red pepper) along with their favorite dip such as ranch or hummus.  My kids like dipping their carrots in peanut butter.  Really!!!

Yogurt Parfaits

Easy for kiddos of all ages.  Fresh fruit, granola, yogurt and let them create!

Let us know if you have any other fun, easy, kid friendly summer snacks!  Enjoy your summer!
